Kate Stradling is a native of Mesa, Arizona. She holds a BA in English from BYU and an MA in English from ASU. She is a language-structure junkie who works as a freelance technical and developmental editor. She sometimes reads linguistics textbooks for fun.
Kate writes and publishes novels in the fantasy spectrum. From dystopian, to rewritten fairy tales, to a Beowulf-inspired adventure, she gravitates toward this broad-spectrum genre because it readily allows for allegories and layered meaning. She loves truth and the many ways that language can twist and manipulate around it. Hopelessly clumsy, she dances with her words instead of her feet.
