Joan Sowards

Joan Sowards’ love for family history has inspired many of her stories, including Bridges of the Heart. Her pioneer ancestors came to the Arizona desert in 1882 and planted deep roots. Joan graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of science degree. She married Dennis Sowards and together they raised five exceptionally creative children. Her grandchildren are proving their creativity as well. Joan loves writing, composing music, and travel. She recently served an LDS mission with her husband in Ayutthaya, Thailand. She is a two-decade member of the American Night Writers Association.

Joan’s other novels include Haunts Haven, Chocolate Roses, and The Star Prophecy, all published by Walnut Springs Press. She also wrote LDS Word Puzzles, Arizona Word Puzzles, and a short story “The Last Gift of Christmas,” for the compilation A Merry Little Christmas.
