Jean M. Nahomni Mani, Native American author and story teller enrolled with the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe of Fort Thompson, South Dakota. She has three children: Raeshel, Kory and Jerel Damon, which all are writers. Raised by her Dakota grandparents from whom she heard ancient tales and stories, Jean loves to write Native American children’s stories. Jean’s lifetime goal is to document and share those Native American stories with the world. Jean’s interests include reading good books, family movies and dancing Northern style at powwows. The first story she illustrated was “The Legend of Timpanogos Mountain” which is about a young woman who saves her tribe from starvation. Jean has written a series of short stories titled “Killer Pink” which is about Native American murders, racial tension and cultural ceremonies. She has written a narrative memoir titled “Run Away Sioux” about her journey home to South Dakota to save her grandmother’s home from the crocked tribal council.
